1. What this site is

An independent reference and review publication about grow lights. It sells nothing, ships nothing, and provides no service beyond the information on its pages. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any manufacturer whose products it covers.

2. What the information is, and is not

Everything here is published in good faith and produced according to a stated procedure — see our methodology. Two limits should be explicit:

• We have not tested any product on this site. No fixture has been owned, plugged in or measured by us. Specifications are quoted from manufacturers’ published documentation, and computed figures are our arithmetic on those figures, shown so you can re-run them.
• Manufacturers change things. A specification we quoted accurately can become out of date when a product is revised without being renamed. Every source carries the date we consulted it for that reason.

Use the information as a starting point and verify anything you are relying on against the manufacturer’s current documentation, which we link to on every page.

3. No professional advice

Nothing here is professional horticultural, electrical, medical or veterinary advice. Our pages on light safety and heat report what published standards and manufacturers state, and say plainly where we found no published guidance rather than filling the gap. For electrical installation beyond plugging a fixture into an existing outlet, consult a qualified electrician; for plant health, your local extension service; for concerns about an animal, a veterinarian.

4. Affiliate relationships

This site earns commission on qualifying purchases made through its links, at no additional cost to you. Sprout & Spectrum is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. The complete arrangement, including what it does not influence, is on the affiliate disclosure page.

We are not a party to any transaction you make with a retailer. Purchases, payment, delivery, warranty and returns are governed entirely by that retailer’s terms, and disputes are between you and them.

5. Prices

Where a price appears on this site it comes from a live data source with a freshness limit; where no verified price is available the buy control reads “check price” instead of showing a number. Prices at the retailer change without notice and the retailer’s price at the moment of purchase is the only one that governs.

6. Limitation of liability

The site and its contents are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Slate Mill Group and Sprout & Spectrum are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, information published here — including any purchasing decision, any outcome for your plants, and any consequence of a product failing to perform as its manufacturer described it.

7. Intellectual property

The text, tables, calculators and computed figures on this site are our original work and are protected by copyright. You are welcome to quote short passages or individual figures with attribution and a link to the page they came from. Wholesale reproduction of pages, or republication of our computed tables as your own, is not permitted.

Product names, model numbers and brand names belong to their respective owners and are used here for identification and commentary. Photographs are licensed stock and are illustrative of the fixture type; we do not own the units depicted, which is stated on every page that carries product imagery.

8. External links

We link to manufacturers, extension services, published research and retailers. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their accuracy or their privacy practices. A link is a citation, not an endorsement of everything at the destination.

9. Acceptable use

Do not scrape the site at a volume that degrades it for other readers, do not attempt to interfere with its operation, and do not use the contact form for bulk or automated messages. The form carries automated spam defenses, described in the privacy policy.

10. Changes

These terms may be updated. The revision date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and continuing to use the site after a change constitutes acceptance of it.
